MOROCCO TEACHER TRAINING

2010 at 200hrs Hot Hatha Yoga Teacher Training

It was either going to be the most expensive holiday I’d ever taken or it was going to lead to what it did!

I was stuck in a love-hate relationship with my career…the long hours, the emotional 😭 overload, I was burnt out, stressed and totally deflated, with the career I loved and what was supposed to be for life, when I took the leap of faith to register for my yoga teacher training course.

I had no idea 🤷🏽‍♀️! No idea, if I was going to be able to teach yoga because I didn’t know that much about yoga then or if it was just a dream, I remember saying “it would be nice to teach yoga.” It was a gamble that eventually became reality (five years later I started to teach yoga.)

I was worried 😟 as well as excited 😊. It was the hardest, yet the best experience ever. I think I really grew and saw myself for the first time in ages. This experience really stuck with me. I saw qualities in myself that I had probably lost along the way with the career in the fast-fashion industry. It felt like I was reborn.

This is me sitting in Agadir, Morocco in 2010. I look tired, lol! I probably was! Waking up at 6am for our 90 minute yoga practice everyday. Sitting and learning about yoga philosophy. Spending time, learning about the people on the course. Self study and practice. Evening yoga practice in the extreme heat was a physical, mental and emotional challenge for myself and everyone on the course. I was so happy at the time, to complete the two weeks in Agadir and get back home 🏡. It didn’t end there, six months later I had completed my course.

I reflect now and honestly it was the best! From the people I met my own self development! I’d do it over again!

Yoga is life transformative if we allow ourselves the time to invest in ourselves. There are no quick wins to learning this ancient wisdom. We have to allow ourselves to show up and see all of who we are. We see the asanas (poses) as a mirror and learn from all the challenges we meet on the mat.

Throwback | 2015

Woodend Mill Mossley

I started teaching yoga from a photography studio every Sunday at Woodend Mill, Mossley. And ever since I have been teaching Flow Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga and of course lots more since then, but these have been a consistent class on my timetable.

I know that not everyone may have the same experience or journey with yoga, but for me, it has been a source of healing, growth, and connection. It has taught me to be more present, to listen to my body and mind, and to find peace within myself amidst the chaos of everyday life. 💫

🧘🏽‍♀️ I am grateful for the physical benefits of yoga - the strength, movement, and balance it has brought to my body. But more than that, I am grateful for the mental and emotional benefits - the clarity, calmness, and inner peace it has nurtured within me.

This is an archive photograph of Lyndsay and I on Sunday morning at Woodend Mill. I am grateful for each and everyone of you who have supported me on this journey. Thank you for showing up on your mat consistently, for trusting me as your teacher, for being dedicated, loyal, and for allowing me to be a part of your yoga practice. We wouldn’t be opening up our own yoga studio without you!

💫 I have a little saying “I learn to teach, and I teach to learn.” This has stayed with me through time, whether I am teaching one person or many people at the same time, my passion is to guide you and support you during your yoga practice.

Together, we can continue to grow and learn, both on and off the mat. I look forward to seeing where this journey takes us next, and I can’t wait to continue sharing the gift of yoga with you all. 🥰 I hope it brings you as much joy, healing, and growth as it has brought me. Thank you for being a part of this beautiful community, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all.
